1979 Lil Red For Sale
This is a clean and solid example of the Dodges Li'l Red Express. This limited production model truck is finished in proper medium canyon red with original power train consisting of a 360 Hi Performance EH1 V-8 with 4 barrel Carter ThermoQuad 850 CFM carburetor, automatic 727 LoadFlite transmission with the original high stall torque converter.
The original odometer reading on the vehicle is currently 56, 373 km's. (35,233 miles)
The truck has been registered with Galen V. Govier in the LRT/ Warlock Registry.
Exterior
The truck has original metal panels except for bed strips which I replaced with stainless and painted. Original floors, doors, fenders, inner fenders, hood, cab, frame. Frame was stripped then sealed with epoxy primer and painted black. All the steel panels and cab were stripped and then coated with red glasurit primer and then painted with PPG Medium Canyon Red paint that has been wet sanded and polished. Original Chrysler gold accent tape stripes and decals for the front and rear wheel openings, doors and tailgate have been applied. The paint is free from marks or chips. NOS door handles and mirror supports and grill. Original front and rear bumpers and step plates have been rechromed and are beautiful. Original oak wooden side inserts on the sides and tailgate attached with original bolts and chrome caps. I replaced the original wooden bed floor with solid oak. All wood has been sanded smooth and covered with 6 coats of spar vanish.
Interior
The interior of the truck sports the original black vinyl bucket seats with centre folding console. Sport "Tuff" steering wheel with full set of gauges in the argent-faced instrument bezel and wood tone door panels on black full door panels and a new carpet to complete the interior. Original Am/Fm/Mx stereo with 6X9 speakers mounted in the doors.
Under the Hood
This is the original 360 cubic inch V-8 with a 4 barrel ThermoQuad 850 CFM carburetor. The engine was professional rebuilt. The original twin snorkel induction air breather sits on top. I rechromed the air breather lid and the valve covers. The engine is backed by the original 3 speed, "Loadflite" 727 automatic transmission with a high-stall torque converter leading to the 3.55:1 rear differential. Dual exhaust lead to the vertical tailpipes with original perforated stainless heat shields that flank the bed just aft of the cab. Power steering and Power brakes. There is 3000 km's (1875 miles) on engine/transmission since restoration was completed in 2001.
Wheels and Tires
I have the original 15 X 8-5 slot chrome wheels with the original
Goodyear Radial GT LR60x15 tires. They are still useable but I do
not use them because you are unable to get them. I currently have
on 15 X 8 slot police rims with Goodyear Wingfoot HP 245/60R/15.

In the middle of ground off restoration. The body is
in pretty good shape, this one does NOT have the original engine
or
transmission. However the engine has been rebuilt and has about
10,000 kms (6200 miles) on it. It has the original Rims and fairly
new rubber on them. It does NOT have the original bumper. It has
all
the stack shields and the dual air snorkel. This truck has the black
interior. I have the base for the two chairs, but I do not have
the
seats. It has a bench seat that has been recovered.

NEEDS new step plates, it has the stacks. The doors have been
repaired to get rid of the corrosion. This truck has the red

IT ONLY HAS 45000 MILES ON IT AND HAS BEEN
GARAGED OR IN THE BARN MOST ALL ITS LIFE. THE PAINT IS IN
GREAT SHAPE ., SHINES
LIKE NEW . WE DID HAVE THE HOOD MATCHED AND PAINTED
AND THE FELLOW THAT
DID THE WORK SAID HE WOULD LEAVE THE REST ALONE ,IT WAS IN THAT
GOOD OF SHAPE.
NO RUST OR DAMAGE. THE WOOD IS SOLID AND IN GOOD SHAPE,
THE WOOD IN THE BED
NEEDS TO BE SANDED AND REFINISHED BUT IT IS SOLID NO
ROT. THE BED LOOKS
LIKE NOTHING HAS BEEN HAULED IN IT AND THE STRAPS BETWEEN THE WOOD
LOOK LIKE
NEW. THIS TRUCK HAS ALL THE FACTORY EQUIPMENT THAT IT CAME
WITH, WHEELS AND
ALL, I DO HAVE A BRAND NEW SET OF MAGS AND TIRES ON THE TRUCK
BECAUSE I LIKE
THEM BETTER BUT I ALSO HAVE THE ONES THAT CAME ON IT. THE
INTERIOR IS BLACK
NO DASH CRACKS OR RIPES CARPET IS GOOD AND THE BUCKET
SEATS ARE IN GOOD SHAPE
ONE SMALL SEAM TEAR, ABOUT 3 INCHES LONG , IT CAN BE REPAIRED.
ALL THE
CHROME IS FANTASTIC, IT SHINES LIKE NEW MONEY. THE NUMBERS
ALL MATCH. WE HAVE
REPLACED A WHOLE LOT OF OLD PARTS THAT WERE SHOWING THEIR AGE AND
I HAVE A
MOPAR MAN WHO ONLY WILL USE REAL MOPAR STUFF, SO ITS ALL MOPAR
TOP TO BOTTOM.
THIS TRUCK RUNS AND DRIVES LIKE NEW, IT EVEN RIDES GOOD WITH
25 YEAR OLD
SHOCKS, WHICH I AM CONSIDERING REPLACING WE WILL
SEE. IT DONT HAVE AIR, THATS
THE ONLY DOWN FALL BUT WITH THE VENTS OPEN AND
THE TRUCK MOVING WE HAVE
NOT REALLY BEEN UNCOMFORTABLE. ANYWAY THIS IS WHAT THE
